Provide factual information on upcoming elections for the city of Cleveland specifically for Judges and Prosecutors. Create a questionnaire for officials running for these positions to answer about their stance on issues we as a group agree upon.

Issues may include:
a. Setting a national standard for use of force
b. Expanding the ability to conduct “pattern and practice” investigations into police departments with a history of excessive force
c. Expand independent investigations into police misconduct
d. Establish a national police misconduct registry and require states to report use of force incidents
e. Ban “no knock” warrants in drug cases

These questions will address and help us to determine if the candidate’s views align with being an ally for BLM movement.

We believe that change needs to occur on a local level and a key area for making changes is the municipal and county judicial system. We recognize the judicial system has inherent biases specifically with regards to the relationships of prosecutors and police officers. We want to identify prosecutors who will work for the people and not let their relationship with the police force influence investigations into police misconduct. We also strive to identify Judges who align with the above-noted positions.
