Seeds of Literacy
Carmine is the Vice President of Programming at Seeds of Literacy, a nonprofit organization that provides 1-to-1 tutoring to adult learners in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to joining Seeds as a staff member, Carmine worked with Seeds as a consultant, preparing the staff and tutors for the new high school equivalency tests. Carmine is the President and CEO of Aspire Consulting and Educational Services, conducting research, evaluation, professional development, and diversity training for adult literacy agencies.Carmine is an Adjunct Professor at Cleveland State University where she teaches future educators in Adult Learning and Development, and Curriculum and Foundations. Carmine earned her doctorate in August 2012, after defending her dissertation, “Teacher Preparation and Professional Development in Adult Literacy Education.”

As the new school year kicks-off, there will be many students in our Cleveland school districts who will lack PPE to actively engage in programming. This project is our attempt to supply the students with desperately needed face masks. Two ways to help:
(1) Contribute funds. We are looking to raise $1,000. This will help us procure 10,000 masks. (as of 8/12/20 we have raised $400)
(2) You can stitch face masks and we will come and pick these up. (As of 8/12/20, we have about 300 masks that have been collected.)

This is a town hall (Zoom) meeting with The Minorities Together Movement to discuss The Just Society Proposal. This town hall will include an introduction/explanation to the proposal and a question and answer session.

"Qualified immunity is a legal doctrine in United States federal law which shields government officials from being held personally liable for discretionary actions performed within their official capacity unless their actions violate "clearly established" federal law." This is an unjust law that makes police officers above the law. We ask Congress to pass the Ending Qualified Immunity Act and to bring justice to the people who have lost their lives over police brutality.

We will go around to pick up face masks from people's houses.
